Shortgrass Country
The Registered Angus herd began with the purchase of females from Leachman Cattle Company of Billings, MT, Flesch Angus of Shelby, MT and Rimrock Cattle Company of Kevin. In 2004, Kari won a NILE Merit heifer from the Stevenson Angus Ranch and the Clova Pride line was added. Bulls have been marketed through the Leachman Cattle Company, Stevenson Angus, and Treasure Bull Test sales. In 2022, Lewis Declaration 135 was the Champion WDA (Weight per Day of Age) bull and also the Reserve Champion Jackpot bull. In 2023, Lewis Claymore 252 was the Co-Reserve Champion WDA bull as well.

The calving season is mid March through early May, and after weaning, calves are developed at the North Montana Feeders in Choteau, MT under the management of Calon Yeager. The bulls return home in April, are fertility tested, and available for private treaty sale at the ranch. Current data for bulls available Spring, 2026 is posted below. This attractive Stevenson Everlast son finished the test with a 110 WDA Ratio, 108 TBT ratio, and was noted for his dam that had 7 calves at a 363 day calving interval, selling to Dustin Richert.

Lewis Claymore 252 was the Co - Reserve Champion WDA bull in the 2023 Treasure Bull test, selected by First State Company - Miles Lewis of Cut Bank. His dam had the highest indexing calf at weaning in 2025 as well.
